Manage Article Settings

Here you are able to select the Top Article Rotation, Section Name Length, choose if you desire Comment Rating, Force Editor Comment Approval, have someone Register to Comment, have Article Rating, and choose if you Require a Registered Reader to Rate.

Top Article Rotation

There are four methods of Top Article Rotation. Top Articles are the featured articles on the home page.

  • Manual Rotation

Manual Rotation allows you to go into Manage Articles, update an article that is NOT an RSS article, and choose where you want it to show up in the Top Articles on the home page. The image below shows the drop down menu that appears when you update an article.

  • Random Newest 20 Articles

    Random newewst text
  • Newest Articles by Timestamp

This option shows newest articles, with the newest occupying Rank 1 and the next most recent in Rank 2 and so on.
  • Random Rotation From Manual List

This setting allows you to put articles on a list. These articles are rotated manually around on the Top Articles.

Timestamp Priority Period

Timestamp Priority Period is the amount of time an article stays in the Top Articles. To make an article be a Timpestamp Priority Article, you can update an article and switch the Timestamp Priority Period from Off to On. This This is useful if you have RSS articles populating your site, and you are writing an article. If you don't have Timestamp Priority Period turned on, your article will get bumped off your Top Articles within a matter of minutes. If you turn on Timestamp Priority Period for a certain article, that article will remain in your Top Articles for however long you set the Timestamp Priority Period.

Section Name Length

The Short Section Name Length allows you to enter 20 characters for the names of Sections. The Long Section Name Length allows you to have 38 characters in the name of the Section. Having a long section name will not stretch the news box, the name of the section will wrap. Here is some text about Section Name Length
